Stemming from her experience as a physicist in optics and photonics, Laura A. Sordillo's work is rooted in a strong understanding of color. Working across oil, watercolor and gouache, she uses color with various degrees of fluidity and transparency to create depth and tone. She defines her works as a study of color. Her paintings also function as a study of the effects of light. Laura lives and works in New York City and Amagansett, NY.
